Have you heard of NAHM? If you haven’t then you have a chance to get to know the label here. Founded by the designer duo, Alexandria Hilfiger and Nary Manivong, NAHM was launched in Fall 2011 with fresh ideas to take the classic shirt dress to a new level. NAHM’s unique name, which means water in Laotian, is a fantastic fusion of the designer duo’s first and last initials.
With a design philosophy centered around blending together classic feminine and masculine elements with a fresh twist, NAHM designers started with a vision to reinvent the classic shirtdress with fresh and new silhouettes while still retaining the menswear inspired shirting details.

Here is a collage of their Pre-spring / Resort 2013 collection, a collection focussed on gorgeous colors and beautiful prints paired with simple yet chic construction applied to the shirt-dress concept. The beautiful cut and slit details coupled with colorful prints make this collection totally desirable and wardrobe worthy.
Here is a video with the designers at the “Fashion’s Night Against MS” event where they appeared to show their support for MS victims. The video also features a short introduction where the designers talk about their brand’s vision and philosophy.
Shirt-dresses are like comfort food, they are very inviting and made to live in. NAHM’s pre-spring collection does take the shirtdress concept to a new level with gorgeous colors, beautiful prints and slit based details. Do you like this collection?
The designers were recently in news for their decision to close down their young label and discontinue their line (read here and here). I wonder what happened there. Hope they decide to come back and stay in business. Would you like to see more of their work? Would love to hear your views. 🙂
