Have you heard of standing or treadmill desks? The trend has been on for a while and if you haven’t heard about it, it’s time to get familiar with it. Sitting is now being compared to smoking on the scale of highly unhealthy habits (Read here, here here and here). You might have seen Victoria Beckham and many other celebs switching over to treadmill or standing desks. Standing desks might seem like a torture but many are raving about its benefits so it might be a good thing to take a look into this. Standing chairs might reduce the fatigue brought on by standing by supporting your spine’s natural alignment.
Inverting Cell Screen Colors
Staring at our cell phone screens before bed can have ill effects on our brain and body (read here). Many of us have a hard time switching off our cell phones before sleep, but there is a simple way to reduce the damaging effects of lights on our sleeping patterns. Inverting your cell phone screen colors sets your phones into a perfect “night time” mode, making it easier on your eyes (read how to here). You can’t view images in this mode or use your phone for an extended period of time, but it’s a great way to catch up on some light reading before sleep without overly hurting your eyes or affecting your melatonin production.
