According to Pantone, Marsala is a rich, elegant and tasteful hue with sophisticated, earthy and grounding reddish-brown roots. Rich and earthy, Marsala makes for an elegant and grounded statement color when used on its own or as a strong accent paired with other colors. Hearty and stylish, Marcela can be used to add a warm and rich elegance to any room in the house. Some of the designers who incorporated this hue into their collections include – Derek Lam, Jenny Packham, Christopher Kane, Matthew Williamson, Daniel Silverstain, Hervé Léger by Max Azria and Dennis Basso.

On the runway, there were many shades of marsala, from brownish to reddish tones. Details such as stripes, ruffles, prints, embellishments etc. coupled with spring colors and materials added uniqueness to the pieces. Marsala pairs extremely well with scuba blue, classic blue, dusk blue, treetop green, lucite green, glacier gray, toasted almond, strawberry ice, lavender herb, custard yellow and other colors from the Spring 2015 color palette but is also versatile enough to be paired with other colors such as metallics, whites and brighter reds. Do you like this color? What do you think of it?
