Coffee With Chicory Blend –
Chicory is a root that is high in vitamin C, is alkaline and makes coffee taste even better. I found this brand called cafe du monde which has chicory in it and this product tastes amazing. You can find it at any health food stores. Going for a chicory blend coffee is a great start because you are just stepping down a bit without completely giving up so you might not suffer from heavy withdrawal symptoms. You can add more chicory to the blend as you get used to the flavor and taste. Read about chicory here.
Herbal coffee – Most herbal coffee blends have chicory in them along with other alkaline ingredients such as barley, rye, almonds, dates and figs. You can try Teeccino, Cafix or any other brand in the market. You can try Teeccino samples, which is a great way to experiment with herbal coffee blends. You can also make your own herbal coffee by mixing chicory, vanilla powder, date powder, cinnamon and dandelion root. Adding cocoa powder to the blend gives it a more mocha like flavor.
The only problem with chicory based coffee or herbal coffee is that it tastes better with milk so if you prefer black coffee then this might not work very well for you. Are you trying to quit coffee or reduce your intake? What do you think of all the conflicting information on coffee? Would love to know what you think.
