With autumn on its way and a chill breeze picking up each evening, it’s easy to forget what summer feels like; but it’s also an indication that the time has come for you to ditch your flip-flops and pull on your wedges and boots.
The season is kicking off with a pale and placid palette; these include white, beige, cream and nude to light pink pigments. The clothes are also getting a little thicker and longer to stave off the sudden cold.
Some of the hottest items gracing our streets right now are the maxi skirt worn with a blouse or a long top, and a coat or a jacket that cinches at the waist to give a fuller looking figure.

However, for a formal tailored look, the trouser suit offers warmth, comfort and aside from being stylish, the trouser suit is also incredibly durable. If you are into feminine looks, a skirt suit would make a better choice.

These looks can be enhanced by utilising black suede shoes and an accessory that boasts either large amounts of sequins, pearls or a small plume of feathers. You could incorporate costume jewellery such as chrome earrings or Jewellery that is of the 1930’s or a slightly vintage style. By including these textures and using them efficiently, you can create an air of elegance and majesty about yourself.
Getting the Look for Less
· You can use nude and black pieces that you already have in your wardrobe. If you don’t have them, you can purchase one for as little as £8 at New Look!, H & M or Forever 21.
· Your lace pieces don’t have to be expensive and not all of it has to be lace either, as this can be quite a costly material. By replacing pieces with something cheaper such as nylon, your outfit will have the same effect but it will cost you less money. Although fabrics such as nylon doesn’t always let the skin breathe and can cause perspiration, it is ultimately cheaper than other materials and can be developed to look similar if not indistinguishable from lace. Nylon is also much easier to clean and can be worn again and again for years to come.
There are a number of different ways in which you can pick up this seasons look but finding one that is right for you and that doesn’t cost too much is something that you can pick up from experience. If you have an aversion to thrift shops and hand me downs, why not try and attempt to make your own attire or accessories?
