Style Raker

Have you seen Dsquared2’s Pre-fall 2012 collection? Based on the idea of “Good girl gone bad”, this collection has a tough, cool and smart “urban” chic appeal mixed with a rich and sophisticated “classic” base. I love the concept of opposites attract in this collection. I love the colors, the simplicity, the textures, the effects and the rebellious yet sophisticated vibe of this collection. To me, this collection has a young and modern “bond girl” like feel with its cool “downtown” elements mixed with a rich “classic” base.  Be it laid back or dressed up, the rich and classic sophisticated side is hard to miss. There are a few lady-like pieces in this collection too.

Some pieces in this collection include folded-sleeve plaid or sateen shirts, bow ties, dip-dyed sweaters, distressed denim shirts, perforated cut-out tops, geometric motif sweaters, plaid vest, destroyed and cuffed jeans, chic tuxedo blazers, cropped pants, dresses with neckline slits and classic coats. Tuxedo and military inspired details along with distressed details add the right amount of “rebellious elements” to toughen up the “classic” lady-like pieces in the collection. Colors such as cobalt blues, rich reds, jewel toned greens, teals and bright oranges mixed with neutrals make up for a beautiful color palette. The addition of bouffant hair do, cat-eye liner, 60’s inspired details and pointy-toed stiletto pumps goes perfectly with the collection. Also, I love the mix of materials, textures and effects. What do you think? Do you like this collection?  Would love to hear your views.
