Heel In & Glam Up: Tray Chic Moment

How to turn your house into a super-stylish, super-chic and super-organized haven with just one cool accent piece?  Trays! Versatile, multitasking, chic, functional and perfect for every type of stylish OCD in the world, trays are perfect for pretty much every room in the house. From foyer and living room to bedrooms, kitchen and bath, you can use trays anywhere in the house to group, organize and display pretty much anything you can think of and turn it into a visually pleasing and effortlessly perfect-looking mini vignettes. Here are a few tips on choosing the right tray and styling tips for your mini tray vignettes –

Material Girl – From modern clean lucite, luxe silver and glamorously mirrored trays to earthy wood, industrial metal, playfully patterned and colorfully lacquered ones, there is something to go with who you are, your personality and the look you are going for (For example: glam for vanity, spa feel for bath). Being into sustainability and style in equal parts, my perfect tray choice would feature natural sustainable materials such as reclaimed wood, rattan or bamboo. Also, it’s a good idea to consider the tray contents and moisture in the room when making your decisions to choose the right material for the trays so you can end up with options that border on less-maintainence (it’s good to consider the spill and moisture factor unless you don’t mind the dust and constant cleaning madness).

Styling Spirit – For styling, visualize your perfect tray chic moment and try to capture the essence of look you want to covey. Based on that, pair main contents of the tray such as kitchen tools, perfumes, makeup /  skincare, favorite books / magazines, breakfast in bed goodies, bar or coffee set, office accessories, rain boots, night stand essentials etc. with a beautiful vase of flowers, greenary such as cactus or moss, candles, personal photos, framed quotes, pebbles and other random decorative accents for an interesting mix that looks intentional yet effortlessly chic for a cool visual appeal. I personally love the look of lush greenary and nature inspired feel coupled with glam, vintage or playful elements such as mirrors, shiny metallics, vintage details or playful motifs (like this handpainted Koi fish tray here).

I love this post and I think serving trays are such an easy way to add a fun decor upgrade to any house especially on a coffee table where I usually just have a coffee cup and TV remote lol.
