Framed State Of Mind

Have you noticed how much all the multi-tasking and multi-role playing mom supermodels or actresses swear by sunglasses to cover all the flaws induced by their super busy schedule filled with sleepless nights and very busy days?   Many supermodels and actresses like Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Nicole Richie and Jessica Alba swear by sunglasses to not only make them look glamorous without spending hours on makeup but also protect their eyes from all the dangerously damaging UV rays.

Sunglasses have a natural ability to add instant glamor and an effortlessly stylish factor without having to spend hours in front of the mirror which makes it the number one accessory to go for when you are pressed for time and are on a super busy schedule. Considering the fact that it also protects your eyes from the dangerously damaging UV rays which could lead to problems such as cataracts, eye wrinkles etc., highlights their functional quality as much as their vanity factor. Here are a few amazing trends that you could adopt for the rest of this summer.

Purr-fect shape: Cat shaped sunglasses are always fun to try. Color, gradient effects, color-blocked details, floral and animal prints, metal bridge/rims etc. gave this shape a fun and playful twist on the spring / summer 2012 runway. Dior, Missoni, YSL, Prada and Jason Wu were some of the designers who adopted this trend along with the ones who are listed below. Some of the pieces looked very futuristic, hybrid shaped and unusual (Proenza Schouler and Rochas for example).

Anna Sui, United Bamboo, Proenza Schouler and Tory Burch

Round and Round:  This trend also had unique details such as gradient effects, color blocking, floral and animal prints, hybrid shapes, metallic details etc. Erdem, Victor and Rolf, Stella McCartney, DVF and Acne were some of the designers who adopted this trend on the runway.

Sporty Chic: Aviator sunglasses and other sporty details such as reflectors and transparency details were seen plenty on the runway. The unique details seen on the runway such as gradient effects, hybrid shapes and cool colors added a “super chic” twist to the usual sporty feel. Gucci, Burberry, Givenchy, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Cynthia Rowley, Tom Ford and Rag & Bone were some of the designers who adopted this trend.

Funny Face: There were also many other unique shapes on the Spring / Summer 2012 runway from heart, futuristic and hexagon ones to hybrids of the above mentioned shapes. If you love wearing whimsical things, this trend might make you feel good. Try Giles, Jermey Scott, Karen Walker, Miu Miu, Rochas, Fendi and Carolina Herrara for inspiration.

Color Me Beautiful: Colors, color blocking and gradation effects can be a fun trend to adopt for the summer. Marni, Rochas, Acne, Fendi, Rag and Bone, Bottega Veneta, Anna Sui, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Prada might be a great source of inspiration if you are looking forward to add some color to your summer wardrobe.

Print and Embellish: Plenty of prints and embellished details were spotted on the Spring / Summer 2012 runway. Stella McCartney, Dolce and Gabbana, Carolina Herrera, Chanel, Prada, and Burberry are few designers who adopted this trend.

There were also wayfarers, oversized and squarish shapes on the runway. Try whites, beautiful sorbet colors, gradient effects, color blocking, floral or animal/tribal prints, embellished (pearls, glitter or enameled roses ), clear or translucent, metallics, reflectors or pearly finishes to add some unique flavor and twist to your sunglasses.

My look is attainable. Women can look like Audrey Hepburn by flipping out their hair, buying the large sunglasses, and the little sleeveless dresses. Audrey Hepburn
