Blooming Color of 2014 – Radiant Orchid

Pantone's Color of the Year - 2014

You may never be royal but you can always wear purple and feel the rush of royal vibe.  Radiant Orchid, Pantone‘s color of the year for 2014, is a gorgeous, sensual, enigmatic and elegant shade of purple to adopt this year to splash your fashion senses with feminine elegance and a generous touch of royal richness. Here are some of my favorite radiant orchid pieces / looks from the Spring and Resort 2014 runway shows.

Yohji Yamamoto, Blumarine, Temperly London, L’wren Scott, Lela Rose, Mary Katrantzou

SS 2014

Rag and Bone, Burberry Prorsum, Marissa Webb, Burberry Prorsum (Resort), Giambattista Valli,  Temperly London

Burberry prorsum (Resort),Lorenhope, PPQ, PPQ, Burberry Prorsum (Resort), Fendi, Nicole Miller, Fendi

Vogue Feb 2014, Marie Claire US Feb 2014, Numéro Tokyo Jan 2014

Kostaboda votive, Fireclay Acai tile,  Urban Outfitters bedding,

The color pairs well with sand, placid blue, violet tulip, orange, red, green, metallics, animal prints and gray tones as you can see in the pictures. According to Pantone, this captivating, enigmatic and magical color, reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination. Also, Pantone collaborated with Valspar, a leader in paint industry, to add this beautiful rich color to the PANTONE UNIVERSE Paint collection by Valspar, available exclusively at Lowe’s stores nationwide. If changing you wall color sounds too much of an effort, you can always go for something small such as an accent pillow, candle votive or flowers.  Are you excited to add radiant orchid color to your wardrobe this year? What are your favorite radiant orchid pieces from the runway?
